Brief:
Our client is a leading global manufacturer of heavy goods vehicles. During development it becomes apparent that the target costs of an HGV facelifting project will not be achieved. The manufacturing costs are to be lowered to the target values through technical modifications and price negotiations with suppliers, without having to lower the standard of quality.
 
Services:
- Perform intensive value engineering on all components involved in the
  development.
- Carry out best-case calculations for all priority A and B components
  (metal and plastic parts).
- Prepare the calculations for price negotiations with suppliers.
- Train the buyers.
- Assist with price negotiations.
 
Results:
Cost reductions of 12% compared with the previous level of manufacturing costs thanks to technical modifications and lower purchase prices. Our services were called upon again for the facelifting of another HGV model. The success achieved with the follow-up project is comparable with that of the first project.
